Oct 10, 2026
More community workers have been trained up on how to use sport to engage with people in the neighbourhoods.
The Jordan Olympic Committee’s Sport for All Department has hosted their ‘Community Sport Leaders’ project featuring the participation of 28 young men and women, under the Community Sport Initiatives Empowerment and Support Programme.
The fourth and final day of the course saw participants present pitches for their community sports initiatives following work on preparing implementation plans, alongside organising a practical session on sports activity, with the course concluding through participant evaluation and feedback.
The course included a series of training sessions and practical activities covering Olympic values, sports safeguarding, public safety, the role of sport in development, mechanisms for designing community sports initiatives, preparing their plans, alongside mobile journalism skills and its role in community sport.
It empowers participants to build their knowledge and skills to design and execute sustainable community sports initiatives to enhance sports participation and meet the needs of local communities across various governorates of the Kingdom.
