On August 18 2016, at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Jordanian athlete Ahmad Abughaush won Jordan's first Olympic medal. A win we saw as a vivid example of excellence and bettering the society.
With that in mind, the JOC’s vision became clearer on the role sports play in improving society and motivating people to succeed. Our vision became more focused on spreading the culture of celebrating sports achievement amongst the Jordanian people as a source of national pride and joy while embracing the noble values of sports and Olympism.
At the JOC, we aspire to spread inspiration among generations of Jordanians that one day would represent Jordan and lead the country to become a leading sporting nation in the Middle East and the world and creating generations of athletes of the greatest calibers, strongest of will and the highest of morals.
We see Jordan as a cradle for successful sport movements built on a strong and capable sporting culture that continues to nurture all those who are willing to put in the effort for social change and economic development.
The JOC believes in the power of achievements and what it means to our nation. We look for the extraordinary to inspire everyone to believe that they too, can do their best and be heroes together.
