STUNNING YOUTH OLYMPICS SILVER FOR WISHAH
Nov 01, 2026
Huda Wishah has won an incredible silver medal at the 4th Youth Olympic Games taking place in the Senegalese capital, Dakar.
The teenager clinched was already a history maker as the first Jordanian female to compete at Olympic level in Judo, and then went one step further by becoming the first to win a medal at this level.
Wishah opened her campaign in the -44kg competition by defeating Greece’s Eirini Papatheodorou in the round of 16, before overcoming Polish Judoka, Julia Blaszczyk, in the quarter-finals.
Her brilliant run continued in the semi-final where she beat Venezuela’s Rosalvik Aguilar, setting up a gold medal match with Turkey’s Sema Yuksel.
She may have lost that bout, but her silver medal was Jordan’s fourth in the history of its participation in the Youth Olympic Games, but the first away from the sport of Taekwondo.
