ISHAISH SETTLES FOR BOXING BRONZE AT ASIAN GAMES

Hussein Ishaish has secured a Boxing bronze medal for Jordan at the 20th Asian Games, held in the Japanese city of Nagoya.

Ishaish missed out on the final of the 80kg weight category after suffering a narrow defeat to South Korea’s Kim Min-seong, concluding his participation in the Games.

Ishaish had qualified for the semi-final with two consecutive victories - the first over Kyrgyzstan’s Omurbek Bekzhigit Uulu, and the second over China’s Wang Xiaobao.

The boxing team continues its participation tomorrow, Wednesday, at the Nagoya Asiad, when Ziad Ishaish meets Japanese boxer Sewonrets Okazawa in the semi-final round of the 70kg weight category.

Ishaish guaranteed his medal with a win yesterday, Monday, over Tajikistan’s Shamsher Saidov.
