Sep 18, 2026
Jordanian Boxer, Hanan Nassar, is bidding for a place on the Athletes’ Commission of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).
Nassar is currently in the Japanese city of Nagoya for the 20th Asian Games and is running for the seat allocated to the West Asian region within the Athletes’ Commission elections, which will see four members representing West Asia, Central Asia, East Asia and Southeast Asia elected.
The voting process will take place from September 20 to October 2 at designated polling centres within the athlete accommodation sites and accredited venues during the Games.
Athletes holding category F accreditation are eligible to participate in the election, with each athlete entitled to one vote to select their representatives on the OCA Athletes’ Commission.
If successful, Nassar would be able to carry the athletes’ voice at the OCA and participate in discussions on issues and matters concerning them.
The results of the Athletes’ Commission elections are scheduled to be announced on October 3.
