Jordan is sending a mix of Olympic and World medallists alongside the best up and coming talent to look for glory at the 20th Asian Games to be held in the Japanese city of Nagoya from September 19 to October 4.
Zaid Mustafa, Saleh Al-Sharabaty, Jafar Al-Dawood, Mahmoud Al-Adarbeh, Rama Abu Al-Rub, Fadia Kharfan and Razan Al-Rwashdeh, are all heading to the Far East, led by technical director Faris Al-Assaf and assistants Zaid Abu Zaid and Yazan Al-Sadek.
Jordan have competed at all the Asian Games since Seoul’s 1986 edition, cementing Jordan’s position as one of the continent’s leading Taekdondo nations.
The Kingdom has won 27 medals, comprising of three gold, 13 silver and 11 bronze medals and they hope to build on that tally over the coming weeks.
Al-Assaf is leading intensive preparations, confident that his chargers can do well and bring some glory back to Jordan.
“We have a lovely blend of talent in the delegation who can make Jordan proud,” he said, adding that this is another important stepping stone to the Los Angeles Olympics in two years’ time.
The Taekwondo competitions at the Asian Games will take place from October 1 to 3 at the Toyohashi City General Gymnasium.
