ASEM LIFTING EXPECTATIONS FOR ASIAD

Weightlifter Asem Al-Sallaj is confident of making an impact at next month’s 20th Asian Games, hosted by the Japanese city of Nagoya from September 19 to October 4.
Al-Sallaj has stepped up his training to reach peak physical and technical readiness prior to competition which gets underway on September 27.
He is one of Jordan’s top weightlifters, having achieved the historic milestone as the first Jordanian to win a medal at the World Weightlifting Championships, securing bronze at the 2024 World Junior Championships.
Coach, Omar Asya, said that the plans are going well, with Al-Sallaj confident of making an impression amongst the continent’s top lifters.
He will compete in the 110kg category with the weightlifting competitions at the Asian Games hosted at the Nagoya Trade and Industry Centre.
