Jordan have bounced back from an opening night defeat by beating India 25-24 in their second match at the 11th Asian Men’s Junior Handball Championship, hosted at the Princess Sumaya Hall in Al-Hussein Youth City, Amman.
India were leading 10-8 at the break, before Jordan fought back to seal the match by the narrowest of margins.
The national team lost their first match against Bahrain last Friday in Group A, and will next face South Korea tomorrow, Monday, at 6pm.
Also, in Jordan’s group are Uzbekistan, while Group B features Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Qatar and Syria.
The top four teams from each group qualify for the quarter-finals, played under a knockout system, while the four teams reaching the semi-finals guarantee qualification for the U19 World Championship, scheduled to take place in North Macedonia next year.
