BATAYNEH WINS EGYPT SQUASH GOLD

Osama Batayneh has won the Egypt International Squash Open in Cairo following an outstanding performance in the U19 category.
The teenager won the title after an impressive campaign which included four consecutive victories, highlighting his growing reputation in the game.
Batayneh received a bye through to the last 16 where he beat the host nation’s Yassin Sulaiman 3-0 (11-3), (11-1), (11-4).
In the quarter-finals, he continued his dominance by overcoming Egypt’s Mohammad Moshref 3-0 (11-5, 11-6, 12-10), securing his place in the semi-finals where he beat another Egyptian, Omar Al-Tabbakh, 3-1 (11-5, 11-9, 9-11, 11-7) to advance to the final.
In an epic gold medal match, he maintained his brilliant form, sealing the title against Egypt’s Kareem Fanous 3-1 (11-9, 11-4, 9-11, 11-8) to claim the title.
