BASKETBALLERS SECURE VICTORY OVER IRAQ IN WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS

Jordan have beaten Iraq, 108-59, in its fourth match within the Asian qualifiers for the 2027 FIBA World Cup in Qatar.
The match took place at the Arena Hall in Al-Hussein Youth City where Jordan retained its lead at the top of Group C with eight points. The group also contains Syria, and Iran.
The Falcons had already bagged victories over Syria by 95-74 and 100-48, and then overcame Iran, 73-60.
Next up is Iran at 7.30pm next Thursday at the Arena Hall in Al-Hussein Youth City, before concluding this phase by facing Iraq again next Sunday, at the same venue and time.
The Asian qualifiers for the 2027 FIBA World Cup are held with the participation of 16 teams, divided into four groups of four teams each, with the competitions played in a two-legged round-robin format (home and away).
The top three teams from each group will advance to the second round, carrying over their first-stage results, before the qualified teams are split into two groups to determine the nations advancing to the World Cup finals.
