FIRST OPEN SUMMER SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP UNDERWAY
Jun 25, 2026
The First Open Summer Swimming Age Group Championship 2026 started today (Thursday) at the Olympic Pool in Al-Hussein Youth City.
The four-day event is organised by the Jordan Swimming Federation, featuring 199 swimmers representing clubs and swimming centres from across the Kingdom.
The championship sees the 121 male and 78 female swimmers competing across the following age groups: 11 years, 12 years, 13 years, 14–15 years, 16–18 years, and 19 years and above.
It marks the first summer championship organised by the federation in a 50m Olympic-sized pool, a step that reflects its keenness to provide an integrated competitive environment that contributes to elevating the technical level of the swimmers and preparing them for upcoming events.
The competitions include freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and individual medley races.
The championship forms part of the Jordan Swimming Federation’s agenda for the current season, and is a key component of its ongoing efforts to develop the sport’s grassroots, nurture talent, and enhance the readiness of swimmers for local and international competitions.
