Jun 20, 2026
Para table tennis team star, Faten Alimat, has won a brilliant silver medal at the Ostrava Open in the Czech Republic, following a campaign filled with remarkable performances against top-tier international players.
Alimat firmly established her presence right from the start of the competition, securing three consecutive victories over players from Turkey, Serbia, and Germany with the same score of (3-1).
She then continued her brilliant form in the semi-finals, defeating her Spanish opponent by the same scoreline to deservedly advance to the final
In the gold medal match, she faced her Turkish opponent in a fierce match characterised by intense competition and a high technical level, unfortunately losing but securing the silver medal.
This achievement comes as a continuation of a series of recent successes for Alimat, who previously won the silver medal in the doubles at the Slovenia International Tournament—one of the most prominent accredited qualifying tournaments on the road to the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.
