Jordan to face Iraq in last 16

Jordan will take on mighty Iraq in the last 16 of the AFC Asian Cup tomorrow (Monday) at 2.30pm, at the Khalifa International Stadium, Doha.
The national team secured its spot after finishing third in its group with four points following a 4-0 win over Malaysia and a 2-2 draw against South Korea. But they finished with a 0-1 reverse against Bahrain to scrape through.
During today’s press conference, Head Coach, Hussein Amotta, emphasised the importance of this match, saying: “The focus in this game will be at its highest as it is a decisive match, and it will be a tough game against an organised and strong Iraqi team.
“We are ready for this match, aiming to perform well and seeking qualification to the quarter-finals.”
Iraq topped its group in the preliminary round, earning nine points from three victories against Indonesia (3-1), Japan (2-1), and Vietnam (3-2).
