Olympian Amro Al Wir has bettered his own 100m breaststroke Jordan record at the FINA World Swimming Championships being held in Budapest, Hungary. Al-Wir clocked a time of 1 minute 1.87 seconds to beat the mark of 1:02.17 that he set at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics last year. He finished third in his heat, but it wasn’t enough to advance to the semi-finals. Fifteen-year-old teammate, Adnan Al-Abdallat, set a new personal best in the 200m freestyle by finishing in a time of 1:59.70 minutes, beating his previous personal best of 2:01.22.
