Ziad Ishaish showed why is considered one of the world’s best amateur -69kg boxers by securing silver at the Ukraine International Championship in Kiev.
Recently installed as the World No. 1, Ishaish breezed his way to the final with four tremendous wins, but eventually lost to Dsibi Darkhan from Kazakhstan in the final.
His previous wins came against boxers from Kazakhstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
The event attracted 100 fighters from a number of weights and was a timely warm-up for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics this summer, for which Ishaish has qualified and will be a favourite for one of the medals.
