JORDAN MISS OUT ON ADDING MORE MEDALS TO KARATE TALLY

Jordan’s young fighters narrowly missed out on adding more medals to their tally at the World Karate Federation Junior, Cadet & U21 Championships taking place in Santiago, Chile.
Omar Najjar lost in the quarter-finals of the -60kg weight to World No. 6, Nolovic Nenad, of Montenegro, on the golden point after the fight finished all square. Earlier he defeated fighters from Hungary, Hong Kong and Brazil.
Sultan Farha lost in the bronze medal match after his second round victor Abdul Rahim, of Turkey, reached the final. It meant he had a shot of glory via the repechage route but he lost.
Jordan, with seven medals already in the bag, will end their participation on Sunday through Assel Al Nuaimi in the girls -61 kg division. She will meet the winner of the match between Kazakhstan's Aseel Kanai and The Netherlands’ Melissa Van in her first fight.
