The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Princess Sumaya University for Technology to provide scholarships to distinguished Jordanian athletes.
The signing ceremony was held on the university campus between its President, Dr. Mashhour Rifai, and the JOC Secretary General, Nasser Majali.
Professor Rifai said that it was an honour for his university to provide this level of support to Jordanian athletes to enable them to continue their higher education.
He added that the university recognises the importance of sport under the direction of its President of the Board of Trustees of the University, Princess Sumaya Bint Al Hassan, and will work closely with the JOC to develop the MoU further. Majali said: “Princess Sumaya University is one of the universities that is keen to support Jordanian sport and athletes and has always supported its athletes.
“That is why we in the Jordan Olympic Committee appreciate and cherish the partnership with Princess Sumaya University to work together on both the educational and sporting sides.”
