Jul 12, 2019
Jordan are continuing their preparations for a FIBA World Cup return next month, but have lost their opening match at the William Jones Cup against South Korea, 69-64, in Chinese Taipei.
The Jordanians looked in good form despite missing star players Ahmad Aldwairi, Dar Tucker, Mousa Al Awadi, Mahmoud Abdeen and Mohammed Shaher, and were leading the match 58-55 going into the final quarter.
But the experienced South Korean took control of the final quarter to win.
They will look to bounce back against The Philippines at 8am Jordan time tomorrow.
The current version of the William Jones Cup has the participation of nine teams who will all play each other once through until July 21.
At next month’s World Cup in China, Jordan have been drawn in Group G where they will meet Dominican Republic, France and Germany.
