AL JAZEERA INTO AFC WEST ASIAN CUP FINAL
Jun 25, 2019
Al Jazeera have reached the final of the AFC West Asian Cup after beating Syria’s Al Jaish on Tuesday night amidst dramatic scenes.
The 4-0 victory was enough to secure the place in the final after overturning their first leg 3-0 defeat with the winner coming deep into added time.
The Jordanians opened the scoring in the fifth minute through Abdullah Al-Attar and they added a second from the penalty spot through Firas Shelbayeh.
Al-Jazeera continued to dominate in the second half with Ahmed Issawi drawing them level on aggregate in the 64th minute, before the sensational winner came in the 94th minute from Zaid Jaber. But hopes of an all-Jordan final were dashed when Al Wehdat were beaten by Lebanon’s Al Ahed.
