ARAB SPORTS MEDIA HONOUR COLLEAGUES

The leading lights in Arab sports media have been honoured at the 11th Arab Sports Media Festival held in Amman under the patronage of HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee.
Organised by the Arab Union for Sports Journalism and sponsored by Zain Jordan, the leading personalities from the industry were joined by Nasser Majali, Secretary General of the JOC and Hazim Naimat, Deputy Mayor of Amman. A minute’s silence was held at the start for Zuhair al-Shuqairy, the Al-Rai journalist who died on the morning of the event. Mohammed Jamil Abdul Qader, President of the Union, praised the role in which the media is playing and urged them to continue to lead the way.
Amjad Majali, head of the Jordan Sports Federation, also paid tribute to the delegates before Majali conveyed the greetings of HRH Prince Feisal and also praised the great efforts exerted by the Arab Union to develop the sector.
Those that were honoured included: Ali Hamid (Emirates), Ibrahim Hijazi (Egypt), Adel Zahrani (Saudi Arabia), Ahmed Karim (Bahrain), Badr bin Abdul Rahman Al-Zadjali (Oman), Dr. Mohamed Awada (Lebanon), Naeem Alhara (Syria), Ghazi Alshaya (Iraq), Rashed Al Mohannadi (Qatar), Ghazi Gharib (Palestine), Abdel Hamid Gharib (Algeria), Mohamed Rouhli (Morocco), Hafez Ahmed Khojaly, Secretary, (Sudan), Abdel Salam Fare, Wahab Barhoumah (Tunisia), Menem Fakhoury, Zouheir Shoukiri, Mohamed Al-Farwati, Hussein Al-Zoubi, Awni Freij, Tayseer Al-Amiri, Majed Al-Adwan, Dr. Manal Bazadoug (Jordan).
