HRH PRINCE FEISAL WELCOMES INTERNATIONAL GYMNASTICS FEDERATION PRESIDENT

HRH Feisal bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC), has welcomed the President of the International Gymnastics Federation and International Olympic Committee Member, Mr. Morinari Watanabe, to Amman.

Mr. Watanabe was accompanied by the Secretary General of the Federation, Mr. Nicolas Buompane, to view the Kingdom’s developments and future plans for the sport.

The meeting with HRH Prince Feisal was the highlight of a busy schedule for the pair who also visited the Olympic Preparation Centre in Amman, where they were hosted by HRH Princess Zeina Rashed, President of the Olympic Preparation Programme, and Mr. Nasser Majali, JOC Secretary General.

“I am very pleased to see such a centre,” said Mr. Watanabe. “It will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the level of Jordanian athletes in various sports. “I have been able to see for myself the tremendous progress that Jordan has made and I have no doubt that it will continue to make progress in the future. “I have also seen the hard work by the Jordanian Gymnastics Federation and I am hopeful we may see a Jordanian gymnast qualify for one of the upcoming editions of the Olympics.”
