GOLD, BRONZE FOR JORDAN IN ARAB OPENER

Jordan have opened the 18th Arab Athletics Championship with a gold and bronze.
Taking place in Amman, Mohammad Al Buhairi had the home crowd behind him as he clinched high jump gold with 2.5m, beating Saudi Arabia’s Hussein Nasser.
The bronze medal came through Hanan Oshosho who finished the 5000m third after clocking the time of 19:14.
The championship opened today with colourful opening ceremony.
