JORDAN OUT OF ASIAN U23 CUP

Jordan’s Olympic team are left with wondering what might have been after losing their final Group C match to exit the AFC Asian U23 Cup in China.

The Nashama lost 1-0 to group winners Iraq who scored the winner in the 49th minute.

That loss, coupled with Malaysia beating Saudi Arabia 1-0, meant Jordan finished third in the group after two draws and missed out on the quarter-finals.

It was devastating for Jordan who had been leading both the earlier games, but were pegged back to draw.
