Jordan’s sporting community marked International Environment Day with a seminar held at the Al Isra University.
Organised by the Jordan Olympic Committee’s (JOC) Sport and Environment Committee the event discussed ways of promoting and supporting environmental initiatives.
The seminar was attended by the university’s Vice-President, Dr. Mohammad Nour, and the JOC Sport and Environment President, Engineer Bakr Al Abbadi.
Al Abbadi pointed out the importance of the youth in volunteering their time to work on suitable initiatives in order to encourage a clean environment.
Secretary General of the Committee, Dr. Ziad Al Alawneh, also raised awareness of the ‘unseen pollution’ and the ways of being aware of it, and how to tackle the problem it creates.
