JOC REINFORCES ITS CALL FOR TRANSPARENT ELECTIONS

 The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) is to form a monitoring committee under Secretary General Nasser Majali to ensure the upcoming elections for its National Federations are, open, fair and transparent.

The role of the committee is to reinforce the message that all elections be carried out in compliance with the laws and regulations, particularly the formation of the general assemblies who will then elect the boards of the national federations.

The JOC has started to check up on the preparations for the elections and have found that violations have been made in some applications for the general assemblies.

The committee will request that the federations concerned re-consider those applications in accordance with the laws in place.

Mr Majali pointed out that the committee will to observe and monitor only and will not be involved in the actual election process.

He added that the JOC will not allow any violation to take place and will play its part to ensure a fair and democratic process.
