Jordan edged a second win from two games in the West Asian Basketball Championship which is being held at the The Fuhais Club.
In a dramatic game, the hosts beat Iraq 66-62 thanks to a strong final quarter and 19 points each for Mahmoud Abdeen and Mousa Al Awadi.
Favourites Iran are looking strong as they beat Syria 92-48 with Jafar Badi notching 17 points.
In the other game of the evening, Lebanon beat Palestine 99-75 with Elle Stephan top scoring with 23 points.
Palestine’s Jamal Abu Shamaleh also showed some good form with 25 points. On Tuesday, Jordan will look to make it three wins from three against Palestine (7pm) while Iraq meet Syria at 3pm and Lebanon play Iran at 5pm.
