KARATE YOUNGSTERS WIN BIG AT ASIANS

Jordan’s early preparations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics have received huge boost after three youngsters won medals at the highly competitive 15th Asian Karate Federation Cadet, Junior & U-21 Championships in Indonesia.
Karate has been added to the 2020 roster in Tokyo, and with the sport popular in Jordan there is now plenty for our athletes to play for. In the cadet section, Saleh Sawalha won a silver medal in the 70kg (individual fight) category while Ali Ismaeel won bronze in the +70kg (individual fight) and Yazan Al Weher won bronze in the -63kg (individual fight).
The medals placed Jordan ninth on the medals table from 24 nations. The U21 team will play Sunday with Mohammad Fahed Sami (60kg), Abdel Aziz Al Masatfeh (84kg), Majedah AlBashayreh (55kg) and Huda Jaber (61kg) all in action.
