AL AHLI LOSE ASIAN CLUBS OPENER

JORDAN’S Al Ahli couldn’t make home advantage count as they lost the opening match of the 19th Asian Clubs Handball Championship against Qatar's Al Jaish 17-37.
The Qatari side is packed with world class talent but Al Ahli performed well for large parts of the match, and will be hoping to pick up points in their next match against Al Jazeera of the UAE.
In other opening day games, Iran's Al Nift drew with Al Jazeera, 35-35, while Saudi Arabia's Al Noor drew with UAE's Al Ahli 21-21.
As well as the Al Ahli against Al Jazeera day two match, Al Jaish face Iran's Al Nift, Oman's Al Ahli Sadab meet Bahrain's Al Ahli and Saudi Arabia's Al Noor take on Alkhweya from Qatar.
