ASIAN BEACH GAMES MEDALLISTS RETURN HOME

Jordan’s medallists have returned home from the 5th Asian Beach Games, with family, friends and well-wishers joining officials in providing a big welcome at Queen Alia International Airport.
The event continues through to October 3 with the beach handball team and wrestling still to play in Da Nang, Vietnam, but it is already by far the most successful ever Beach Games for Jordan with an incredible 13 medals secured.
The handball team will play Japan for fifth place tomorrow (Friday) while wrestlers Zakaria Al Shishani (70kg), Ameer Ishaqat (90kg) and Hussam Al Din Abu Sayyaf (60kg) compete on Saturday.
But it was all about the returning stars today, including jiu jitsu World Champion Lama Qubbaj who picked up two gold medals.
The medal winners are:
Juijitsu:
Lama Qubbaj, 28: two golds in +70kg and Open
Haidar Al Rasheed, 23: gold in 85kg and bronze in Open
Basil Fanous, 25: silver in -94kg and bronze in Open
Mohammad Belbaisi, 27: silver in 85kg
Rana Qubbaj, 32: gold in 70kg and bronze in Open
Hamzeh Al Rasheed, 21: silver in 77kg
Ruba Al Sayegh, 32: silver in 62kg
Abdel Kareem Al Rasheed, 24: bronze in -77 kg
Muay Thai
Mohammad Salameh, 24: silver in 81kg
