HERO'S WELCOME FOR PARALYMPICS
Sep 23, 2016
Jordan's paralympians have received a hero's welcome home after returning from the Paralympic Games with three medals. A huge crowd of VIPs, fans and family greeted the 10-player delegation at the airport on Thursday night to provide the sort of reception they thoroughly deserved. There were special cheers for silver medal powerlifters Tharwat Al Hajaj and Omar Qaradah and bronze medal powerlifter Jamil Al Shibli who were hoisted above the well wishers' shoulders and carried through the arrivals. It is a big turnaround for the paralympians who finished the last games in London without any medals.
