Jordan’s Paralympic table tennis team has stepped up preparations for the Nagoya 2026 Asian Paralympic Games, with two athletes aiming to make their mark on the international stage.
Faten Eleimat and Ibrahim Sabrah have begun training at the Sky Hall Toyota arena in Nagoya, Japan, ahead of the fifth edition of the Games, scheduled to take place from October 18-24.
The Jordanian duo will compete in both individual and mixed doubles events, hoping to deliver strong performances against some of Asia's leading Paralympic table tennis players.
Eleimat will represent the Kingdom in the women's singles category 4-5, while Sabrah will compete in the corresponding men's singles competition.
The pair will also join forces in the mixed doubles category 10, giving Jordan another opportunity to challenge for honours.
National team coach Raed Al-Shareef expressed confidence in the athletes' preparations, highlighting the extensive training programme undertaken in recent months.
He confirmed that both players were progressing well and said he was optimistic about their ability to produce competitive performances and achieve positive results.
Their participation also represents an opportunity to showcase the continued development of Paralympic table tennis in Jordan and the dedication of athletes competing at the highest international level.
According to the team's competition schedule, both athletes will begin their individual campaigns on October 16, with Sabrah contesting the opening round of the men's singles category 4-5 and Eleimat competing in the women's equivalent.
They will then turn their attention to the mixed doubles competition on October 21.
With preparations now entering their final stages, Jordan's representatives will be looking to translate months of hard work into strong performances as they proudly represent the Kingdom in Japan.
