JORDAN LOSE TO SWITZERLAND IN WORLD CUP FRIENDLY
May 31, 2026
Jordan have plenty to work on after losing their World Cup friendly in Switzerland on Sunday afternoon.
The Nashama have been in central Europe preparing for their FIFA World Cup debut later this month, but their friendly match with their hosts didn’t quite go the way they wanted following a 4-1 at the Kybunpark Stadium in St. Gallen.
The Swiss raced to a 3-0 first half lead through Breel Embolo (penalty) in the 28th minute, Dan Ndoye in the 33rd minute, and Granit Xhaka (penalty) 45th minute.
Substitute Oudah Al-Fakhouri managed to reduce the deficit in the 52nd minute, before the Swiss struck again in the 79th minute through Christian Fassnacht.
Jordan depart Monday for the United States of America to face Colombia next Sunday evening in San Diego, before settling into their official World Cup training camp in Portland.
Jordan is Group J alongside Argentina, Algeria, and Austria.
