JOC HOSTS BAJA SPORTS FESTIVAL
Feb 11, 2026
To celebrate the Jordan Baja returning to Aqaba from February 12-14, the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) is organising a Baja Sports Festival this Friday in Aqaba.
Around 200 athletes will participate with the festival to feature competitions in Taekwondo, Karate, Boxing and Esports.
Activities will take place at the Arab Revolt Square and Ayla Oasis, creating an open and vibrant sporting atmosphere that reflects strong community engagement.
This is the second edition of the festival, and is organised by the JOC as part of its ongoing efforts to promote community sport, raise awareness about the importance of physical activity and leverage major sporting events to spread sports culture across society.
Aqaba was selected as the host city due to its distinguished tourism status and advanced infrastructure, in addition to the timing alongside Jordan Baja 2026, further reinforcing Aqaba’s position as a hub for major sporting events.
The Jordan Baja is a part of the FIA and FIM World Bajas Cup series and will welcome over 130 teams from 30 countries.
JOC Secretary General, Rana Al-Saeed, said: “The Baja Sports Festival held alongside the Jordan Baja reflects our commitment to engaging with the local community and visitors to Aqaba in the spirit of the event.
“Through this festival, we can broaden sports participation and strengthen the concept of community sport by linking it with the national and international events hosted by the Kingdom.”
Al-Saeed reaffirmed that the Committee remains committed to launching initiatives that enhance the presence of sport within society and promote physical activity as a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.
