A programme targeting young basketball players across Jordan is bringing a whole new generation to the sport, it has been revealed.
The “Junior Falcons” has continued as part of the National Programme for Talent Development Centres across all governorates of the Kingdom, in line with its approved plan to encourage sports participation and promote the values of the Jordan Olympic Committee.
Training sessions and activities are ongoing at the programme’s centers, ensuring continuity of work and the implementation of training programmes in accordance with the set objectives and plans.
The continuation of activities comes within the programme’s efforts to promote sports participation and reinforce the values of commitment, discipline, and teamwork. This contributes to building a generation that is aware of the importance of physical activity and a healthy lifestyle, alongside the programme’s educational goals.
The programme is implemented in cooperation with the Jordan Basketball Federation, aiming to develop a new generation of players in younger age categories.
It is considered the largest national programme for training talent under the age of 12 across the Kingdom. Since its launch nearly two years ago, the programme has benefited 996 male students and 847 female students from the first and second educational cycles, under the supervision of 60 male and female coaches, through 20 training halls distributed across 10 governorates in the Kingdom.
