The Jordan Olympic Committee has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al Hussein Technical University to strengthen cooperation between the education and sport sectors, support Jordanian youth academically and athletically, and to promote healthy lifestyles within the university environment.
The MoU seeks to spread sport and health awareness among university students, support academically outstanding athletes through scholarships and educational facilitation, and implement specialised training programmes in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
It will also lead to the organisation of joint sports and community events that encourage community engagement.
Areas of cooperation further include the exchange of expertise and knowledge, encouraging scientific research in sports, technology, and artificial intelligence, supporting student initiatives, and organising workshops, conferences and activities that contribute to developing students’ leadership and social skills.
During the signing, Jihad Qutaishat, JOC Deputy President, stated that the MoU reflects the Committee’s commitment to expanding partnerships with national educational institutions.
He emphasised that this collaboration opens new horizons for supporting young athletes, raising health awareness, and building an integrated system that contributes to the development of national sports and strengthens youth engagement in society.
For his part, Professor Dr. Ismail Al-Hinti, President of Al Hussein Technical University, affirmed the university’s belief in the importance of integrating education and sports in shaping a well-balanced student personality.
He noted that this partnership represents a qualitative step towards supporting students and enabling them to balance academic excellence with athletic participation, enhancing their readiness for the future.
This MoU comes within a shared vision to build a sustainable national partnership that serves the goals of development, education, health and innovation, and contributes to preparing a capable, aware generation ready to contribute across various fields.
