AL-SAEED MEETS PARLIAMENTARY YOUTH AND SPORTS COMMITTEE

The Secretary General of the Jordan Olympic Committee, Rana Al-Saeed, met on Wednesday with the Parliamentary Youth and Sports Committee, chaired by MP Mohammad Al-Maharmeh, to discuss key challenges and opportunities related to advancing the sports movement in the Kingdom.
Al-Saeed presented the committee’s strategic plans and programmes aimed at supporting sports federations, enhancing athletes’ capabilities, and elevating competitive performance levels.
She emphasised the importance of strengthening the partnership with the House of Representatives to improve the legal and regulatory framework for sports, develop sports infrastructure, and empower youth to participate effectively in sports activities.
MP, Al-Maharmeh, affirmed that the JOC is committed to improving the performance of sports federations in ways that positively impact the national teams.
He stressed the importance of ongoing collaboration between the parliamentary committee and the Olympic Committee to follow up on development programs and strengthen joint efforts to achieve national goals and elevate Jordan’s presence on the Arab and international sports map.
Al-Maharmeh also called for increased investment in the sports sector through active partnerships with the private sector and better resource allocation to serve national objectives.
He highlighted the importance of empowering youth and supporting their participation in school and university sports, in addition to expanding community-based sports initiatives.
Members of Parliament Abdulraouf Al-Rabeehat, Attallah Al-Hunaiti, Abdulnasser Al-Khasawneh, Noor Abu Ghoush, Abdulhaleem Annab, Ali Al-Ghazawi, Moataz Abu Rumman, Ayman Al-Badadwah and Jihad Madanat emphasised the importance of investing in emerging sports talents, enhancing athlete development programmes, and supporting Jordan’s participation in regional and international competitions to present an honourable image of the nation’s sporting excellence.
