Nov 25, 2025
The West Asian Judo Championship has concluded in Amman, following seven days of competition held at Prince Hamzah Hall in Al-Hussein Youth City.
With the participation of 12 countries, Jordan’s Judoka delivered strong performances throughout, securing several medals across different categories.
Speaking to the Jordan Olympic Committee, President of the Jordan Judo Federation, Sultan Al-Awamleh, emphasised the remarkable progress the national team is achieving.
He highlighted that the younger age groups, in particular, have shown rapid and continuous development in recent months - something clearly reflected in the West Asian Championship.
He added that the national teams have reached an advanced level of readiness ahead of upcoming international events, especially the qualification tournaments for the Olympic Games.
Al-Awamleh noted that the West Asian Championship represents an important preparatory milestone before the World Junior Championships and Asian Championships, both scheduled to be held next year in Jordan.
He affirmed that this event played a key role in assessing the athletes’ level before entering future training camps.
