THE MEDALS KEEP COMING FOR JORDAN AT ISLAMIC GAMES

Jordan’s brilliant Taekwondo team signed off from the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games with a pair of bronze medals on Monday.
Rama Abu Al-Rub and Razan Al-Rawashdeh, climbed onto the podium after superb performance in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, taking the Taekwondo team’s tally at the Games to five medals – two gold (Zaid Mustafa, Jaafar Al-Daoud), one silver (Saleh Al-Sharabati) and these two bronze medals.
Abu Al-Rub’s medal run in the +70kg weight started with a quarter-final win over Tajikistan’s Mufa Abdulsalam, 2-0 before losing to Turkey’s Sude Uzun in the semi-final.
In her bronze medal match she beat Niger’s Inayato Gouno, 2-0.
Al-Rawashdeh -63kg campaign started with a quarter-final triumph over UAE’s Amina Al-Lughani (2-0), before losing to Turkey’s Hatice Yigit Alp in the semi.
But she bounced bacxk to win bronze by defeating Kazakhstan’s Aisha Adilbekkyzy.
Meanwhile, Hamza Al-Nashash left the competition in the quarter-finals of the -67kg category after losing to Iran’s Hamed Asghari, despite starting his run with a win over Tunisia’s fighter.
