SILVER, TWO BRONZE FOR JORDAN AT ISLAMIC GAMES

Jordan’s karate team secured three medals on Wednesday at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Abdulrahman Al-Masatfa won silver, and Jud Al-Durrous and Yara Nasser each claimed bronze medals on a great day for the team.
The silver marked Al-Masatfa’s second medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games, having previously won bronze in the previous edition.
He delivered an impressive run with three consecutive victories: 9-4 over Guinea’s Toure Mamadi; 8-0 over Gabon’s Obissa David; and 9-2 over Algeria’s Anis Ayoub.
In the final, he fell to Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Al-Asiri, settling for the silver medal.
In the women’s events, Al-Durrous secured bronze in the -68kg category after defeating Uzbekistan’s Buno Igamberdieva and Guinea’s Ani Keita.
Meanwhile, Nasser captured her bronze in the +68 kg category, with notable victories over Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medallist, Kazakhstan’s Sofiya Berultseva; and Kyrgyzstan’s Orzaliva.
With these results, Jordan’s karate team concluded its participation in the Games with four medals: two silver and two bronze, following Mohammed Al-Jaafari’s silver medal in the -84kg division.
