Ishaish books final spot at Islamic Solidarity Games

Boxer Ziad Ishaish has reached the final of the 70kg weight category at the Islamic Solidarity Games, currently taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, after securing victory in the semi-finals on Sunday.

Ishaish beat Azerbaijan’s Sarkhan Aliyev to reach the final, where he will face Kyrgyzstan’s Nuriddin Rustambek on Monday.

Meanwhile, Hussein Ishaish earned the bronze medal in the 80kg category, after losing his semi-final to Azerbaijan’s Saeed Jamshid Jafarov.

Hussein had earlier advanced to the semi-finals after stopping Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Al-Subhi in the second round of their quarter-final.

It marks Hussein second bronze medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games, having also won bronze in the Baku 2017 edition.
