6th Islamic Solidarity Games Officially Opens in Riyadh

The 6th Islamic Solidarity Games officially opened on Friday evening in the Saudi Arabia capital, Riyadh, with the participation of over 3,000 athletes representing 57 countries.
The opening ceremony took place at the Al-Janadriyah Camel Field, attended by Jihad Qutaishat, Vice President of the Jordan Olympic Committee and Head of the Jordanian Delegation.
The Jordan flag was carried during the parade of nations by karate fighter Jude Al-Darous and weightlifter Asim Al-Sallaj.
The ceremony featured an introductory performance celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Islamic Solidarity Games, alongside artistic and musical segments and an aerial drone show.
The event also included a presentation of the sports featured in this edition, which will continue until November 21.
Jordan is represented in Riyadh 2025 by a delegation of 39 athletes, competing in taekwondo, wushu, jiu-jitsu, karate, muay thai, weightlifting, e-sports, camel racing, para powerlifting, athletics, para athletics, fencing, equestrian and boxing.
