Olympic Boxer Hussein Ishaish will launch Jordan’s participation at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, hosted by Riyadh, the Saudi Arabian capital, when he steps into the ring on Saturday.
Ishaish will compete in the 80kg weight category, facing the host nation’s Mohammed Al-Subhi at 1:40pm.
His brother, Ziad Ishaish, will begin his campaign the following day (Sunday) in the 70kg semi-finals, where he will face the winner of the bout between Uzbekistan’s Samandar Khabibullaev and Azerbaijan’s Sarkhan Aliyev.
Boxing makes its return to the Islamic Solidarity Games after last featuring in the 2017 Baku edition, where Team Jordan secured three bronze medals through Mohammad Al-Wadi, Obada Al-Kasbeh, and Hussein Ishaish.
