ISHAISH BROTHERS TRAIN IN RIYADH AHEAD OF ISLAMIC SOLIDARITY GAMES

Boxing brothers Hussein and Ziad Ishaish began their training on Monday at the Athletes’ Village in Riyadh ahead of the Islamic Solidarity Games hosted by the Saudi capital.
Hussein (80kg) and Ziad (70kg) arrived in Riyadh on Sunday to prepare for the Boxing competitions, which will begin on Wednesday, two days before the official opening of the Games on November 7.
Both athletes expressed their determination to deliver their best performances and achieve results that will make Jordan proud, emphasising their goal of winning medals and raising the Jordanian flag high at this major sporting event, which brings together more than 4,000 athletes from 57 countries.
The brothers are awaiting the official draw ceremony, set to take place on Tuesday, to determine their matchups in the tournament.
Ziad recently captured the bronze medal at the World Championships held in Liverpool, England.
The pair are part of a 43-strong athlete delegation of Jordanians that will compete at the games from November 7-21.
JOC Vice President Jihad Qutaishat leads the Jordanian delegation which will compete in taekwondo, wushu, jiu-jitsu, karate, muay thai, athletics, weightlifting, esports, camel racing, para sports, fencing, boxing and equestrian.
