JUDOKO GET UNDERWAY AT ASIAN YOUTH GAMES

It was a testing first day of action for Jordan’s Judo team who began their participation on Wednesday at the 3rd Asian Youth Games, held in Manama, Bahrain.
Competing today were Haroun Al-Mashni (under 60 kg), Ashraf Al-Zidaneen (under 66 kg), Sara Al-Seifi (under 52 kg), and Huda Weshah. Huda Weshah lost in the quarter-finals of the -48kg category to Iran’s Shakibaei, moving to the bronze medal bout, where she was defeated by Mongolia’s Enkhtur Tömöjin.
Sara Al-Seifi (-52kg) was eliminated in the Round of 16 after losing to Tajikistan’s Jamayeva Zuhal, while Haroun Al-Mashni also exited the -60kg competition in the same round after falling to Yemen’s Ibrahim Al-Qadhi.
Ashraf Al-Zidaneen was beaten in the Round of 16 by UAE’s Al-Otaibi for the -66kg division.
The team will continue its participation on Thursday, with Haitham Adawi and Taleen Khader in action.
