WRESTLERS LAUNCH THEIR ASIAN YOUTH GAMES CAMPAIGNS

Wrestling has got underway at the 3rd Asian Youth Games, taking place in Manama, Bahrain with Jordanian grapplers in action.

In the 60kg category, Mohammad Ishaq won his Round of 16 match against Saudi Arabia’s Saeed Majrashi, before falling in the quarter-finals to Kyrgyzstan’s Sharipov Mohammad.

In the 71kg category, Abdulrahman Al-Marafi exited the competition in the Round of 16 after losing to Pakistan’s Ali Hassan, while Omar Ishaq (51kg) was defeated by Kyrgyzstan’s Saribayev in the same round.

Meanwhile, Lian Al-Qawasmi exited the 53kg category after losing to Thailand’s Paowisit in the Round of 16.

The national wrestling team will continue its participation tomorrow (Wednesday) with Hamzeh Nafesh and Faisal Malhas set to compete.
