FIRST JORDAN MEDALS AT ASIAN YOUTH GAMES

Taekwondo has delivered Jordan’s first three medals at the 3rd Asian Youth Games (Bahrain 2025) on Friday.
Abdullah Shaheen earned a silver medal in the -48kg category, while Lama Al-Baqour (+63kg) and Fatima Al-Abdallat (-44kg) won bronze medals for Jordan.
Shaheen recorded four consecutive victories, defeating Japan’s Kawai Ryato, Bahrain’s Yousef Qamber, Indonesia’s Rahmad Audry and Kazakhstan’s Bakhromkulov Bunyat.
In the final, he fell to Thailand’s Kasemsin (0-2) to settle for silver.
Al-Baqour earned bronze after beating two Thai fighters Kapulong Marie Hart (2-0) and Prongthong Sitriyada (2-1), before losing in the semi-final to Iran’s Asal Galtyeh (0–2).
Al-Abdallat also secured bronze by defeating Kyrgyzstan’s Sadirova Hafiza (2-0) and Iran’s Tahmasibi Bahar (2-0), before falling in the semi-final to Vietnam’s Hoang Thi Thu Huyen (0-2).
The Jordan Taekwondo team will continue its participation tomorrow (Saturday), with Lian Al-Rawashdeh, Laith Dakhlallah, and Rania Taqatqa set to compete.
