TALA ADVANCES TO BOXING QUARTERS AT ASIAN YOUTH GAMES

Jordan’s Tala Hussein advanced to the quarter-finals of the -50kg category at the 3rd Asian Youth Games, held in Manama, Bahrain, on Friday.
Hussein secured an impressive 5-0 victory over Taipei’s Kuo Chih-Yin, earning her a place in the last eight where she will face North Korea’s Jong Hyang on Sunday.
Teammate, Reem Al-Rumahi, lost to India’s Chand Khushi in the round of 16 of the -46kg division, and Julia Al-Sheikh was defeated by Taipei’s Wu Chieh-Ju in the -54kg category.
In the same round, Saltie Al-Hadidi fell to The Philippines’ Loubrido Leo Mar in the -46kg division.
The Jordan boxing team will continue its campaign tomorrow (Saturday), as Mutaz Al-Masha’aleh faces Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Suleiman in the -54 kg round of 16. Wisam Al-Wuhaidi meets Uzbekistan’s Shukrjonov Ibrokhim in the -60 kg category and Abdullah Toghooth takes on Japan’s Honjo Kunimitsu in the -66kg division.
