BOXERS MAKE LOSING START TO ASIAN YOUTH GAMES

Jordan’s boxers began their participation on Thursday at the 3rd Asian Youth Games, held in Manama, Bahrain.
Both Osama Al-Khaldi and Yazeed Jaradat suffered defeats in their opening bouts.
Al-Khaldi lost to Japan’s Hasegawa Kira 1–4 in the Round of 32 (-50kg), while Jaradat was defeated by Tajikistan’s Nozimov Amir 0–3 in the Round of 16 (-75kg).
The team’s participation continues tomorrow (Friday), with several bouts scheduled.
Reem Al-Rumahi will face India’s Chand Khushi in the Round of 16 (-46kg) at 12 noon.
Julia Al-Sheikh will meet Chinese Taipei’s Wu Jie-Jou in the Round of 16 (-54kg) at 12:50pm.
Tala Hussein will take on Chinese Taipei’s Kuo Chi-Yin in the Round of 16 (-50kg) at 6pm.
Salt Al-Hadidi will face Philippines’ Lobrido Leo Mar in the Round of 16 (-46kg) at 6:20pm.
