Al-KHALIDI, JARADAT TO OPEN JORDAN’S BOXING CAMPAIGN AT THE ASIAN YOUTH GAMES

Osama Al-Khalidi and Yazid Jaradat will launch Jordan’s bid for boxing medals on Thursday at the 3rd Asian Youth Games, currently taking place in Manama, Bahrain.
Al-Khalidi will face Japan’s Hasegawa Kira in the Round of 32 for the -50kg weight category, while Jaradat will meet Tajikistan’s Nozimov Amir in the Round of 16 for the -75kg division.
Jordan’s participation will continue on Friday, with Reem Al-Rumahi competing against India’s Chand Khushi in the Round of 16 for the -46kg weight class.
In the same round, Tala Hussein will face Chinese Taipei’s Kuo Chi-Yin in the -50kg category, while Julia Al-Sheikh will meet Wu Jie-Zhu, also from Chinese Taipei, in the -54kg division.
The draw also placed Salt Al-Hadidi against the Philippines’ Lubrido Lio Mar in the Round of 16 for the -46kg class.
On Saturday, Moataz Al-Masha’aleh will open his campaign in the -54kg quarter-finals against Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Suleiman.
On the same day, Abdullah Tughudh will face an, as yet, unnamed opponent in the -66kg category’s Round of 16, while Wisam Al-Waheedi will meet Uzbekistan’s Shukrjonov Ibrokhim in the Round of 16 for the -60 kg division.
Finally, on Monday, Omar Issa (+80kg) will face Kazakhstan’s Rustembek Mukhamadali in the quarter-finals.
