Oct 18, 2025
The Community Sports Leaders training series, organised by the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) through its Sport for All Department, concluded on Saturday as part of the Community Sports Support and Empowerment Project.
The three-day course was held in Aqaba and brought together participants from the southern region, marking the completion of the program’s national coverage.
Previous sessions had been held for participants from the central and northern regions, bringing the total number of participants to 92 from across Jordan.
This project is one of the key initiatives under the National Program for the Development of Community Sports, which aims to support and implement community-based sports initiatives and encourage individuals to engage in physical activity.
It also seeks to empower young men and women in designing and planning sports initiatives that serve their local communities, while promoting the culture of community sports as a means of social development and mental and physical well-being.
The Community Sports Support and Empowerment Project aspires to broaden participation in sports by involving diverse community groups in its activities, and by enhancing collaboration with local institutions and individuals to facilitate the implementation of sustainable sports initiatives.
